Cinnamon contains coumarin. Research shows consuming too much coumarin may be toxic to your liver.

"The recommended daily coumarin limit is approximately 0.05 mg/pound (0.1 mg/kg) of body weight, or 5 mg per day for a 130-pound (60-kg) person. This means that just 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon could put you over the daily limit." - Healthline

In the following recipe, extra cinnamon is added on top but will be divided up into about 8 servings. Mash up some overripe bananas into oatmeal and sweeten it up with maple syrup and dates, instead of sugar. Enjoy an unprocessed bowl of hearty oatmeal.
